Phrases such as “home safe,” “safe at home,” or even “home sweet home” are common phrases by which people indicate the comfort level they have with their places of residency. We all like to have places that we can call our own, and it is in these places, in these homes, that we often feel the most safe and secure. However, illusions of safety and security can often stem more from feelings of comfort. For example, you might feel safe walking along a dark street at night if it is a street you walk along regularly; but does that really mean that the street is always safe?
